Turk’s love and appreciation for building and the environment began as a teenager. While growing up in the late 70’s Turk divided his time between the Island of Catalina and the eclectic hillsides of Bel Air. While at Catalina Island School Turk developed an aptitude for wood working and would spend his free time repairing vintage wooden boats and old structures on campus. Removed from the distractions of the city he soon began to develop an affinity for the outdoors that has inspired a lifelong love for nature and the natural habitat around him.
During the summer break when he returned home, Turk worked as a carpenter’s apprentice. He built and restored mid- century homes in the secluded neighborhoods off Laurel Canyon and Mulholland Drive. Working on these iconic homes he quickly discovered his passion for architecture, construction and design.
After graduating from school, Turk moved to Santa Barbara where he worked as a carpenter and began honing his craft while working on custom wood homes in Montecito, Hope Ranch and Santa Ynez. During this time he realized the impact the physical environment has on one's well being. This intrinsic philosophy is present throughout the construction process.
Shortly thereafter he obtained his general contractor's license and thus began the start of his career as an upscale custom home/remodel and residential builder.
Turk likes to spend his downtime practicing yoga, kayak surfing and scuba diving. He is an underwater research diver, a member of Reef Check and a trained emergency first responder. He volunteers throughout the year for coastal clean ups, environmental underwater surveys and donates to numerous organizations dedicated to protecting the environment. Turk’s kindhearted nature brings an honest integrity and dedicated enthusiasm to all his projects.
